Andrea Bögel has been an internationally acclaimed artist for many years now, making her name in numerous radio drama and television productions, shows and concerts (incl. London, Warsaw, Vienna). Before her debut with the „Vienna Volksoper“ under the direction of Eberhard Waechter, she had already advanced to become one of Germany’s most successful performers in musicals and concerts. Starring alongside Benno Kusche, her performances as „Grizabella“ in the first german version of the musical „Cats“ in the „Hamburg Operettenhaus“ and as „Eliza“ in the musical „My Fair Lady“, to name but a few, resounding success. One of the most versatile of performers, her work has covered all areas of music theatre from musicals and chansons to cabaret and opera. She has worked with almost all of the famous orchestral leaders of the jazz scene, such as Herbolzheimer, Jankowsky, Werner Müller, Jerry van Rooen, Jiggs Wigham, Dieter Glawischnig and Eugen Cicero and with many classical radio symphony orchestras (WDR, NDR). On successful completion of her operatic training with Prof. Gisela Litz, she continued to study drama and dance at the College of Music and Drama in Hamburg.
During her career, Andrea Bögel has been the recipient of several prizes and awards:
- Prizewinner in the national singing competition in Berlin
- Prizewinner of the German Phonoakademie
- Scholarship from the Oscar and Vera Ritter Foundation (Director Prof. Hermann Raue: College for Music and Drama Hamburg).
